2019 Nissan Murano named U.S. News ‘Best 2-Row SUV for the Money’

Nissan’s stylish Murano takes prestigious honor for fourth time in five years

CHICAGO – U.S. News & World Report has designated the 2019 Nissan Murano as the “Best 2-Row SUV for the Money” for the fourth time in five years in the magazine’s annual “Best Cars for the Money” awards.

The awards, in 14 automotive categories, have been published annually since 2007. The award was presented to Nissan in conjunction with the 2019 Chicago Auto Show. According to U.S. News, Murano stood out for its “outstanding value and critical acclaim.” The 2019 Murano has a starting MSRP of $31,270 USD1.

“Since the launch of the original Nissan Murano 16 years ago, it has had a profound impact on the SUV market, offering a forward-looking design sensibility that combines elegant styling with premium features,” said Scott Shirley, vice president, CMM & Marketing Operations, Nissan North America, Inc. “With the enhancements for the 2019 model year, Murano takes another major leap forward in terms of advanced technology and value. We’re grateful to U.S. News & World Report for once again recognizing Murano as a leader in its class.”

Now in its third generation, Murano receives a comprehensive refreshening for the 2019 model year. The revisions to Murano’s exterior add a more pronounced front V-motion grille, redesigned LED headlights and taillights, new LED fog lights, new 18-inch and 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheel designs and three fresh new exterior colors – Sunset Drift Chromaflair, Mocha Almond Pearl and Deep Blue Pearl.

Enhancements to the luxurious interior are led by new semi-aniline leather-appointed seats with diamond-quilted inserts and contrasting micro-piping trim for the seats, door armrests and center console lid for the Murano Platinum grade. Other changes include three new interior trim finishers: Dark Wood-Tone, Light Wood-Tone and Metallic.

In addition, all 2019 Murano models feature Nissan’s innovative Rear Door Alert (RDA) system and Intelligent Driver Alertness (I-DA)2, which learns each individual driver’s steering patterns and helps alert the driver when drowsy driving is detected. Available technology includes Intelligent Around View®Monitor (I-AVM) and an 11-speaker Bose® premium audio system3.

Safety, security and driver assistance technologies have also been revised for 2019 with the availability of Nissan Safety Shield 360, a suite of six advanced active safety and driver-assist technologies designed to help provide 360 degrees of confidence.

Safety Shield 360 is a critical part of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, which provides technology in a way that moves people to a better world. Safety Shield 360 includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist and Rear Automatic Braking. Safety Shield 360 is standard on Murano Platinum and as part of the SL Technology Package.

The 2019 Murano is available in four well-equipped grades: Murano S, Murano SV, Murano SL and Murano Platinum. Each comes equipped with a 260-horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC V6 connected to an advanced Xtronic transmission and is available in front-wheel drive or Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.

2016 Nissan Altima – Now with Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC)

Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) works like a standard cruise control, only with the added feature of maintaining a selected distance from the vehicle in front of you.

The distance to the vehicle ahead can be selected at any time depending on the traffic conditions.
Each time the DISTANCE switch is pushed, the set distance will change to long, medium, short and back to long again.
The distance to the vehicle ahead will change according to the vehicle speed. The higher the vehicle speed, the longer the distance.
If the vehicle in front is traveling slower than your set speed, the ICC will automatically match that vehicle’s speed. Once the road ahead clears, the ICC will resume your set speed automatically
Each time the engine is started, the initial setting becomes “Long.”
When the road ahead is clear, the driver can set the speed range between approximately 20 to 90 miles per hour.

To set the ICC system, push and quickly release the CRUISE ON-OFF switch. You can confirm the setting of the Intelligent Cruise Control system in the vehicle information display.

The detection range of the sensor is approximately 390 feet in front of you. It will not detect the following objects:

Stationary and slow moving vehicles
Pedestrians or objects in the roadway
Oncoming vehicles in the same lane
